A Delightful Little Samson Traction Engine at 5/8″ Scale
Today I’m thrilled to feature a delightful little model traction engine at 5/8″ to the foot that looks so much like a Little Samson engine, It could well have been modelled on that prototype.
Of course, it may not be a model of the Little Samson Traction Engine, but it’s so close in appearance I’m going to assume (rightly or wrongly) that it is.

Hi myfordboy, many thanks for your permission to publish this post.
Interesting to hear about David building a Little Samson traction engine.
in addition to this website I participate in a Little Samson builders email circle.
It could be useful for David either/and to be aware of this website (http://littlesamsontractionengine.com) and perhaps to join the email circle. I’d be grateful if you could let David know about these options.
Hi Alan,
That is fine you can add the details to your site. I guess it does look like a Little Samson. I took elements from several engines for the design, I wanted cast wheels to simplify the construction.
I have made nearly 200 sets of castings for this model and a similar amount for my steam engine model. This one uses the same engine design.
A friend of mine is building the Little Samson in a smaller scale.
