It was over two years ago when I started work on converting my 6″ Little Samson Traction Engine to a Showman’s Scenic Engine.

Here is the first sketch I made back in July 2021 and issued by email:-

‘Morning All,

Well, it was a start.

Now I have a temporary canopy made and fitted. It is based on the Little Samson drawings but as stated it is only temporary. I made it primarily to fix the height because I wasn’t sure whether I’d be looking under or over the real one once it was made.

There has been a lot of progress since then, maily in designing building and testing the dynamo, it’s supports and the dynamo-to-engine supports.

The dynamo is now in a working stage and has undergone a long series of dynamic tests.
