LSTE Stripdown – Trunk Guide Off. 24 October 2024

It’s been 57 days (almost two months) since I started the strip down of the Little Samson Traction Engine and although I didn’t want to do it but it was obvious that to clean and paint the cylinder and trunk guide properly that the trunk guide had to come off. I even took off the steam manifold for cleaning.

So now (except for the front wheels which are holding the engine up) literally everything that can be taken off has been.

The cleaning and painting of the various components has been under way for a while.

Next big jobs are to finally clean and paint the cylinder and boiler, then move on to the hornplates and backtank.
